Change Your Mindset to Develop a Positive Buyer Process

The buyer process can be frustrating, but change your mindset! Buyers are everywhere—the real estate market is shifting, and our strategies need to change and adapt!

At Real Estate Investing Women (REIW), we help women investors use their mindset to succeed in real estate. With almost forty years of experience in real estate, we’ve learned that it takes more than knowing the industry to achieve our goals.

Mindset practices can apply to all aspects of your real estate investment business, including the buyer process.

What Is the Buyer Process?

The buyer process is the method and steps to find buyers for a property. The process includes locating potential buyers, negotiating the deal and closing on the property. The buyer process can apply to many types of deals, including fix and flips, wholesaling, virtual deals and more.

The different parts of the process can feel frustrating, but the right mindset can keep your outlook positive.

How to Develop a Positive Mindset

Creating a positive mindset takes intention and discipline, but it’s worth it.

Practice Gratitude

First, mindset includes noticing the good things you already have in place. Acknowledge the growth you’ve made and the steps you’ve taken toward your goals.

  • Have you connected to a mentor?
  • Have you joined a group?
  • Have you attended training?
  • Have you closed a deal?

Give thanks for these accomplishments and use that energy as a catalyst to engage with new buyers.

Build Confidence

Confidence comes when we believe in ourselves. You are smart and capable. While working with buyers can feel intimidating, you can feel confident that you add value through your services. Whether you are cold calling to find buyers or talking with them about financing options, you are offering them an opportunity. You aren’t responsible for their response.

Incorporate Daily Habits

Moving deals forward requires action. Start with spoken daily affirmations. This means saying out loud positive messages that reaffirm your goals and mission. Other daily habits include tasks that move you toward your goals.

For example, set a daily habit of calling five potential buyers each day, watching an educational video or commenting in the Facebook group. These simple steps add up over time to create cumulated results.

How a Positive Mindset Impacts the Buyer Process

When you have a positive mindset, you are more productive. You don’t waste energy on insecurity and doubt. Instead, you act with confidence.

Also, a positive mindset allows you to have better connections with others. When you feel good about yourself and have control over your mind, you interact better, which produces better results. Then, the buyer process feels less frustrating regardless of the outcome. You can confidently move to the next opportunity if one deal doesn’t work out.
